TABLE OF SILENCE: An Artistic Reflection on 9/11

The Table of Silence Project 9/11 is a multi-cultural performance ritual for peace and healing, realized through a transcendent ceremony for over 100 dancers and musicians. This call to action began on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and has been presented each year at the fountain at Lincoln Center.

In 2020, Buglisi Dance Theatre, premiered the Reimagined Table of Silence Prologue featuring 28 dancers, and artistic collaborators composer/violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain, spoken word/poet Marc Bamuthi Joseph, and BDT Co-Founder/Principal Dancer Terese Capucilli. The revised program not only paid tribute to those who lost their lives on 9/11, but honored all those who are impacted by the current crises that face humanity today, from the pandemic to the Black Lives Matter movement for racial justice.
